We hope your first visit with us will be a wonderful experience as we welcome you to join our dental family. Our aim is to learn about you as a person as well as to learn what is important to you in regards to your dental health.
We reserve one hour for this initial exam and start with a tour of our first class facility introducing you to our state-of-the-art equipment and sterilization procedures. We begin with a review of your medical and dental history and discuss any dental concerns that you may have. We will take your blood pressure and review any medications that you are currently taking or ones you may have had an allergic reaction to. We are also interested to hear about your previous dental experiences so that we can make your dental visits with us as comfortable as possible.
At this visit, you will have a comprehensive oral examination which includes a complete evaluation of all your teeth, an oral cancer screening and periodontal (gum) exam. We also complete a T.M.J. and bite exam, orthodontic screening and cosmetic smile analysis. Necessary X-rays will be taken and photographs and study models are used when necessary.
With the use of an intra-oral camera, we can show you what we see, helping you to understand any problems we may find. Our new patients are pleasantly surprised by the thoroughness of this exam and regularly comment that they have never had an examination like this before. Dentistry is most successful when problems are found early and treated while they are still small.
The doctor will then sit down with you at that appointment or at a subsequent appointment if the dental problems are more complex to establish a customized plan for your dental care. Together, we will decide the best course of treatment and you will leave here with a very good estimate of your investment of time and money to achieve your dental goals.
